Pledgeship lasts two semesters. That means less work each semester and a more even, natural experience of building friendships and becoming part of the house. Pledge Week after spring break is busier, with expectations explained in advance and planned around academic schedules.

Membership dues: $245 per semester for social activities and spiritual life. Member housing: $895 / month. Room and meal plan included. $500 security deposit before move-in.

Members almost always choose to live in the Dutch House when rooms are open because the location, included meals, shared spaces, and daily community are central to PAK. A student living elsewhere may still pursue pledgeship. A small number of boarding spaces may sometimes be available.

We aim to offer plenty of fun, optional events while keeping required commitments manageable. As a pledge, you’ll generally attend a monthly house meeting and one monthly group activity, with occasional smaller gatherings and a busier Pledge Week after spring break. As a member, you’ll attend house meetings and share responsibility for the fraternity. Leadership roles bring additional commitments. Meals, worship, intramurals, and social events offer plenty of ways to get involved around your classes and other interests.

PAK does not set a minimum grade requirement. The chapter emphasizes strong academics and supporting members who are struggling.

Leading a fraternity can be one of the most valuable experiences of college. You put what you’re learning into practice, make decisions that affect a real community, and work with a team to see them through. Roles such as President, Vice President, and Secretary offer different ways to serve, alongside responsibilities for events, spiritual life, and caring for the house. Members learn to communicate, organize, solve problems, and follow through together.

Yes. Brothers are involved in campus ministries such as Michigan Cru, RUF, and The Salt Company, as well as service organizations, engineering teams, and other student groups. PAK gives you a community to come home to while you explore everything Michigan has to offer.
