Housing Overview

Nestled within the heart of Ann Arbor, our historic residence boasts a vibrant atmosphere where lifelong friendships are forged and memories are made. With spacious common areas for socializing, cozy study nooks for academic pursuits, and a range of amenities to enhance your college experience, our fraternity house is more than just a place to live—it’s a home away from home.

The House Breakdown

Living quarters consist of 19 single, 2 double, and 2 triple occupancy rooms (29 people total). Traditionally, the doubles and triples are occupied by pledges or members who have not spent a year in the house with a roommate. Other accommodations include: a large living room with a fireplace, recreation room containing a pool table and ping pong table, fully equipped kitchen, free laundry facilities, cable TV, video game consoles, and high-speed internet.

Parking is provided on the basis of seniority for members and then granted to boarders if available. Parking is not guaranteed for all residents. The final assignment of parking is at the discretion of the house Sergeant-at-Arms.

All resident rooms are connected to the house local area network via an Ethernet connection. In addition, there is a wireless network securely broadcast throughout the house.

Costs

The current cost of living at Phi Alpha Kappa (2024-25) is $845/month for members (actives and pledges) and $995/month for boarders. This covers room, board and our meal plan.

A security deposit of $500 is required before moving into a room, and as a new resident, the first month’s rent is due at the time of the lease signing.

Members in the house also have social and spiritual dues each semester of $200 and $20, respectively.

Rates and fees are set yearly during the winter semester.
